I once heard someone ask this question………… If your church were to close down would you be missed?
In the same way that you want to advertise your events, you also want to advertise the services your Church offers. Letting people know about these services is not only a meaningful way to reach out to your congregation, it’s also a great way to invite people to Church.
You can take advantage of search engines and web databases to advertise the services your Church offers by following these easy steps.
- Identify and organize your church services (Coffee Morning, Toddler Group etc)
- Search for related information in your local area
- Choose organizations or groups that are relevant to your church service(s)
- Contact the organizations that appear in the search results and ask them to post a link to your website on their site
For example, if you provide homeless soup kitchen service in Bristol, you can search for ‘homeless soup kitchen in Bristol’. Top result is ‘BBC – Bristol – Faith – Soup-er volunteers wanted’ and if you click on that, you will find that they have links for churches on that page. You can then contact them by email or phone and ask them if they can link to your site from that page too.
This is a great way to rank your website further up in search engine searches as well as advertise your Church to a wide audience that you may never have reached through traditional channels.
